1. Be water conscious.
Boiling food in a pan,  use the only the amount of water needed to cover the amount of food you are cooking, because boiling water will take longer and you do not need to  waste a lot of energy which will cost you money!!!

2. Defrosting ahead of time.
Defrost your frozen food in the fridge overnight or while you’re at work!!!

Defrosting your food in advance typically halves the cooking time and also means that you do not need to use the energy of a microwave to defrost more quickly.

3. Use Glass Dishes in the oven.
Use glass or ceramic dishes in the oven when ever possible because they retain heat better than their metal counterparts, making them the most energy-efficient option.

4. Use the right size pan.
Always use a pan which is the right size for the amount of food you are cooking - means you won’t waste energy while heating a bigger surface area than you need.

5. Use the right size hob.
When you’ve selected your pan, make sure you use the right size hob for it. A bigger burner will waste energy and a pan that’s too big will take longer to get to the right temperature.

6. Keep heating rings clean.
Make sure you keep your heating rings as clean as possible - any food that sticks to the ring will absorb heat, which will make it less efficient.

7. Use the right ring for the right thing.
If you're going to use the oven, cook a few meals at a time to get the most out of having your oven on and hot, especially if lunch-prepping for the week ahead is your kind of thing.

8. Your cooker is one of the most energy-guzzling appliances in your house.
Get ahead and  cook multiple meals at once – iIt will save you a lot of hassle later on in the week and save you energy!!!

9. Keep your Fridge Stocked Up
Have a full-to-the-brim fridge can save you energy - because you may not realise but an  empty fridge will use more energy to keep the food cool. So if you make sure you keep your fridage stuffed with food it will keep cooler and use less energy.

Oh and by the way, the ideal temperature for fridge is around 5°C.

10. Have a Smart Meter
Always keep an eye on what yur using on gas and electricity as you go along with a smart meter.
It will rshow you what your using the most energy on!!! and you will start creating good energy saving techniques and habits and you will also  notice if you have  accidentally left something switched on.
